The wonderful thing about printmaking, especially monotypes, it that the basic technique has been the same for hundreds of years. I love the spontaneity of the art form, as well as the unpredictability. I can go days without producing a single half decent print and then five great ones will appear back to back. For these prints I find myself drawn to animals, using the ink to try to capture the speed and smoothness of creature in motion.
